Prevention of Chronic Degenerative Diseases
These diseases do not just come flying out of the sky and zap us. It is not like God all of a sudden decides it's your turn now to cop one of these diseases. It takes many years of following a particular pattern of abuse before any of these diseases develops to a stage where obvious symptoms appear. Most adults who are struck down by cancer could have stopped this happening by taking the appropriate action at any time during the previous ten years, if they had known what to do and were prepared to do it.

All of these diseases are a direct result of the way that we treat our bodies (often unwittingly). If we treated our bodies the same way that the residents of the five remote communities do, then we would not get these diseases and would live to be healthy and active 120 year olds. And it isn't good enough to blame genetic predisposition. Everyone and every machine has a weakest link which will be the first part to fail when it is put under excessive load, and these weakest links are often inherited within families, but they won't fail until they have been subjected to that excessive load.

The challenge of course is figuring out how to treat our bodies like this whilst still living a relatively normal life in a modern western civilisation.

In order to prevent (or at least delay) the onset of chronic degenerative disease in general it is simply a matter of addressing the four fundamental areas listed above. The chances of acquiring any disease when all of these matters have been attended to are extremely small compared to the bulk of the population who do not address these issues. Furthermore, people who already have one of these diseases are finding that in many cases the disease either disappears or its symptoms are markedly reduced when these issues are seriously tackled.

This is where the subject gets interesting, and in fact very confusing for most people in the population, because absolutely everyone has their own ideas about the best way of doing this. (It's like politics and religion.) Different types of health professionals promote their own favourite ways, which they have individually found to be effective. They have a living to make using their expertise in whatever area they have chosen to specialise. It is unfortunate that many professionals and non-professionals alike choose to criticise what others are doing, rather than all sectors of the health (or wellness) industry working together for what should be the one common cause, ie, don't just try to heal people after they get sick, but show them how to prevent the onset of illness before it happens.

Because doctors are generally highly respected by the general public they are in an ideal situation to set a good example in this regard. It's pleasing to note that many of them have now realised that they have been misled in the past and are now beginning to accept this responsibility.

Commercial interests have a field day in this situation and are able to jump on every bandwagon that comes along. Hence we have the various vested interests telling us to drink more milk, or eat more meat, or drink more tea, or eat more sugar, or do more exercise, or go on the latest fad diet, etc.

We need to critically examine the information available bearing in mind these vested interests.

Read on as we examine the different causes listed above and use common sense reasoning to figure out how to prevent and/or cure the various chronic degenerative diseases.
