Connect Overview
A visit to North Queensland would not be complete without stopping
at Paronella Park. Situated south west of Innisfail at Mena Creek
is a Spanish Castle that will take you back in time to the 1930's
and one man's dream. Paronella Park is difficult to describe. It
was built as a tribute by Jose Paronella to his wife. Paronella
Park is a collection of stunning buildings, castle like in appearance
and surrounded by an incredible garden featuring over 7000 trees
planted by Jose Paronella.

Most
of the buildings are in a state of semi ruin after decades of ravaging
floods and fires, but there is a truly magical feeling to Paronella
Park. The current owner operators, Mark and Judy Evans are curators
of this memorial. They have made it a welcoming place with Devonshire
teas at The Cottage and well maintained picnic areas and walks through
the gardens.
Paronella
Park is highly recommended as a place to visit whilst in North Queensland.
Day Tours are available from Cairns.
Note:
Paronella Park has been featured on National and International Television
documentaries as a truly unique place to visit.
